National Mall of Pickleball is back, bringing America’s most popular multi-generational sport to America’s Front Yard! The event will take place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on eleven temporary pickleball courts. This year’s event, happening from September 27 to September 29, 2024, is themed “One for the Ages” celebrating a new generation of pickleball for all ages.
The event will highlight the importance of intergenerational relationships and the role pickleball plays in fostering connection and community. In support of this, the Trust for the National Mall is searching for America’s first-ever Ultimate Pickleball Duos – “pairs of picklers from different generations who have a love of pickleball and have fostered a meaningful relationship on and off the courts.” Partners can submit their stories highlighting the role pickleball has played in their intergenerational relationship for a chance to play on Center Court at the 2024 National Mall of Pickleball. Winners will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the National Mall of Pickleball for a chance to be crowned the Ultimate Duo.
The 2023 National Mall of Pickleball was a true success, with courts and clinics selling out in just 15 minutes! Nearly 800 players experienced the sport like never before with special guests, clinics and tournaments, professionals from the D.C. Pickleball Team, celebrities, and a “Cookin’ in the Kitchen” healthy cooking demonstration.

With the final schedule for 2024 set to be released later this summer, the completely free, three-day event is set to build on last year’s success and will again include on-site pickleball lessons and clinics with the pros, opportunities for walk on play, advance court sign-ups, and a D.C. Pickleball Team showcase.
