The professional players on the APP and PPA tours have been delivering action-packed events. At the PPA Virginia Beach Cup, Anna Leigh Waters secured her 29th career triple crown. In men’s singles, Hunter Johnson defeated #1 Federico Staksrud to secure a spot in the gold medal match against Ben Johns. Johnson earned the silver medal as Johns ultimately came out on top. Hayden Patriquin and Federico Staksrud teamed up for the second time in men’s doubles, cruising to the finals and defeating the back-on-top Johns brothers.

On the APP Tour, 250 amateur and professional pickleball players gathered to celebrate women’s players in pickleball at the inaugural APP Women’s Open. The women’s singles event delivered three first time medal winners on the APP Tour. Congratulations to gold medal winner Shannon Pretorius, silver medal winner Domenika Turkovic, and bronze medal winner Alla Mikhno. Megan Fudge and Jill Braverman teamed up in women’s doubles to claim the gold medal. The event also featured a pro split age event where Susannah Barr and Sheri Courter defeated Megan Fudge and Angela Simon in the final.

The PPA then traveled west for the PPA Vegas Open. In men’s singles, Quang Duong battled it out to claim the gold medal and his first pro singles title. Kate Fahey and Brooke Buckner faced off in the women’s singles final where Fahey triumphed to secure her second PPA gold medal. Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns once again went up against siblings JW and Jorja Johnson in the mixed doubles final. Waters and Johns secured the gold. JW Johnson came away with a second silver medal in men’s doubles after going head-to-head with partner Dylan Frazier against Ben and Collin Johns. In women’s doubles, Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau faced off against Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher in a fierce battle for the gold. After an incredible five-game back-and-forth thriller, Waters and Parenteau clinched the gold.
