Professional pickleball fans rejoice! 🙌 The APP Tour has announced that they plan to double the number of events in 2025.

Winning Streaks & Shakeups

PPA traveled to Arizona for the PPA Mesa Cup where Ben Johns defeated Hunter Johnson to return to the top of the podium in men’s singles. Anna Leigh Waters secured the double gold with a win in women’s singles and women’s doubles with partner Catherine Parenteau. In a rare event, No. 1 mixed doubles team Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns were defeated by Anna Bright and Dekel Bar in the semi-finals. Waters and Johns went on to win the bronze medal while Bright and Bar secured the silver. Sibling duo JW and Jorja Johnson rose to the occasion, claiming the gold medal in the event. In men’s doubles, Christian Alshon and Andrei Daescu faced off against the new pairing of Ben Johns and Gabe Tardio in a powerful five-game final to win the gold.

Meanwhile, APP made its mark in Roseville, California at the APP Sacramento Open. Christopher Haworth and Sofia Sewing both extended their singles winning streaks with gold medals in men’s and women’s singles, respectively. Bobbi Oshiro and Will Howells teamed up for this event, leading to double gold medals for both partners. They secured the gold together in mixed doubles and in their respective gender doubles, proving they are a force to be reckoned with.
