The 2025 Minto US Open Pickleball Championships made history this year—highlighted by the professional pickleball debut of tennis legend Andre Agassi. Teaming up with world No. 1 Anna Leigh Waters, the pair drew massive crowds and won their opening match before ultimately falling to Len Yang and Trang Huynh-McClain. Waters bounced back with a championship performance, capturing gold in Women’s Doubles alongside her mother, Leigh Waters. The iconic mother-daughter duo once again proved why they’re one of the most formidable teams in pickleball.

Another standout story from the US Open was the sensational double-gold performance by both Megan Fudge and Jack Munro. The duo captured gold together in Mixed Doubles, while also securing individual golds—Fudge in Women’s Singles and Munro in Men’s Doubles. Both players also earned additional medals in the Pro Split Age Division. In another breakthrough moment, Len Yang captured his first professional medal on U.S. soil when he won gold with Jack Munro in men’s doubles.

The action didn’t stop at the US Open. At the APP Cincinnati Open, Megan Fudge continued her incredible run, claiming silver in mixed doubles and gold in women’s doubles. These two medals pushed Fudge into the history books as the most decorated player in APP history with a total 70 career medals.

The 2025 Major League Pickleball season kicked off with fireworks in Orlando, where the Dallas Flash and St. Louis Shock dominated the competition. Going undefeated in Orlando, both teams set the tone for what’s shaping up to be an exciting MLP season.

In the second stop, MLP Columbus, unexpected developments shook things up. Ben and Collin Johns withdrew from the event, citing concerns about lighting conditions. The St. Louis Shock delivered another powerhouse performance, alongside a breakout showing by the Orlando Squeeze. With back-to-back strong performances, Orlando now sits atop the MLP leaderboard, with St. Louis Shock close behind in second.
