The recent PPA tournament held in Australia marked a significant milestone as the PPA’s first professional pickleball event outside the U.S., featuring an exciting clash of top-tier talent from both the tour and the pro pickleball communities in Australia and Asia. Gabe Tardio showcased his skill by claiming the gold in men’s singles, while Kaitlyn Christian triumphed in an epic showdown against Australia’s Somer Dalla-Bona in the women’s final. The mixed doubles competition saw a gripping five-game battle where Lacy Schneemann and Tyson McGuffin emerged victorious against Jesse Irvine and Tardio. Further demonstrating their skill, McGuffin and Tardio teamed up to face off against Quang Duong and CJ Klinger, delivering another five-game match to secure the gold in men’s doubles. Lacy Schneemann earned a second gold medal in women’s doubles alongside partner Vivian Glozman.
